Brooke Chestnut, 

Mother. 

BA in Psychology and Jewish Studies from City College of New York, 

She’s an artist at heart dedicating over 10 years teaching pottery classes and creating clay sculptures and functional Art. 

As a Movement specialist her training includes certification in Kundalini yoga, Pilates, Functional patterns, Anatomy Trains and Life coaching. 

Co founder of Soul Lyft, non profit organization, lifting you mind body and spirit to mastery. 

Founder of Soul Body Sanctuary, Wellness Center located in Santa Rosa, 

She enjoys practicing self care. Dancing, singing, and spending time in nature with her three year old Daughter, Ayla.

Currently, she coaches small group training in Santa Rosa, CA. With her private clients she uses movement to ignite resilience, confidence and peace. In her workshops she encourages self inquiry of emotional and spiritual awareness through all forms of movement.

This style of trading is a global approach to functional intentional movement, meaning we are assessing the body as a whole as opposed to individual units. This concept is rooted in the principal of tensegrity, a form of geometry and engineering where the integrity of the structure depends on the balance of the tension members. Our body is just such a structure – the structural and movement stability of the body depends on the balance of the soft tissues.

Identifying your pattens and the reprogramming the slack and tension in your body so that you can move with integrity. Example, the larger muscles load more while the smaller members of the muscle groups work less. Train the correct function of the muscles, hydrate the muscles and soft tissues while learning how to leverage gravity and you will fine more overall freedom of movement without pain.

Common knowledge in the fitness community is that passive stretching is helpful however when it comes to movement mechanics what is more important is a stretch that serves a function. A good stretch is one that directly affects human propulsion. Controlling and decelerating extended body parts in preparation in recoiling it back into flexion and does not lengthen absent of motion. It serves a specific role within a wider set of mechanics. When Muscles move in synchronicity, the body moves through space. But when muscles are over stretched, they contract less effectively resulting in more imbalances in the body. Most people think that stretching will correct their movement but in fact, stretching only deals in passive potentials not action potentials.
